Sunak extends VAT cut for hospitality and tourism sector until end of March 2021

September 24, 2020 By VATCalculator

Rishi Sunak, the UK Chancellor, has extended the VAT cut for hospitality and tourism to the end of March 2021. Speaking in Parliament today after scrapping the autumn Budget, Sunak unveiled measures dubbed the #WinterEconomyPlan hoping to shelter the economy from the upcoming winter headwinds brought on by a second-wave of Covid-19 and, undoubtedly although not mentioned, a firm Brexit.

To continue supporting over 150,000 businesses and protect 2.4 million jobs, the Government has extended the 15% VAT cut for the tourism and hospitality sectors to the end of March next year. pic.twitter.com/5s5UMyqZSD
